Christmas in NYC

Matt, Will and Christine in NYC at Rockafeller CenterOn the 22nd of December, Christine and I loaded up the car with the dogs and started on what was supposed to be a four and a half hour trip to New York City. It turns out, that the trip lasted for a total of seven hours with traffic and stops. Christine says that she hate the Jersey turnpike. I would have to agree. Two lanes through almost the entire state. When we arrived in NYC, Matt was a gracious host in helping me find a parking spot in the big city and we rested for the night after eating home made pizza (compliments of Brad). On Sunday we ventured to Brad’s work to have breakfast where many celebrities go and it is in the same building as where they film many of the Food Network’s shows. Brad said that in the upcoming Sex and the City movie, there is a scene from his restaurant, named “202.” That made Christine excited.

From there we went to meet up with Blakley and Brian Maggi, friends of ours from San Diego. They are now living in Connecticut near Rhode Island. They were visiting Brian’s family on Long Island and took a train into the city for the afternoon. We had a good time and ate at an Irish pub and walked around a bit around Rockafeller Center.

On Christmas Eve, Christine and I went back down to the area around Macy’s and Rockafeller Center and did some shopping and ate lunch while Matt was at work.

On Christmas Day, we had a great meal, delivered from local gourmet grocery store near by. Matt was glad because for what it would have cost to make the turkey and all of the fixings, it would have cost more than to have it delivered. We relaxed during the morning and ate a great feast before venturing back home around 5:00PM. It only took us four hours to get home. No traffic on Christmas Day I guess.

Overall it was a good trip. I invite you to check out our photos on flickr, click on the filmstrip on the right hand side of this blog.

That is all for now.

Hey Christine, I can begin to see a baby tummy in the pictures. I presume after the baby is born we will see less pictures of the dogs and lots of the baby? Glad you had a good time on your trip to NY even though we missed you two terribly in CA.BR/Love,BR/Nana Jean

Hey! I totally live in upstate now! Justin is assigned to Ft. Drum. If you venture up this way again, you should really come visit and meet our little herd!

Thanks Sandy. We will try to do so, if we are in that neck of the woods in the future.
