One Awesome Anniversary Gift – Baseball at Camden Yards

Boston Red Sox for the second time this year (not bad for seeing them play, in person for the first time during my life just this year). My thoughtful and creative wife knew what I wanted, even before I did and because the first year anniversary, traditionally is a paper gift, tickets served as the best avenue. She purchased them near July 20th and told me I’m going to Charm City.

Tonight, I get to experience this most wonderful and awesome gift. We will be making our way to Camden Yards in Baltimore to see them take on the Cal Ripken Jr. play at Camden. He was a great player and Cal Ripken, Jr. Rookie Card played 2,632 straight baseball games without missing one spanning a career that lasted 20 years. He had over 3,000 career hits and started 17 consecutive All-Star games. He is one admirable baseball player and ranks up there with Ted Williams and Babe Ruth.

All-in-all tonight will be my last outing before I have to return to the academic world for another greuling year of Public Administration. My fall semester I will be taking statistics (this class will be at least something new for me) and accounting for public and nonprofit entities (I get to learn how to read a balance sheet).

I don’t know what is in store for my spring semester, but I have six classes left after this next semester, meaning, I will be half way done. It will be all downhill from there. But class doesn’t start until Friday and tonight is all about fun, fun, fun.

My darling great-granddaughter is going to have to grow up tough. First at five weeks she survived a grueling plane trip across country, feet in the Pacific Ocean at San Diego, a ten hour car trip to Napa Valley, hugging and loving by numerous relatives, baptism, another long car trip to Reno, NV, more hugging by friends and loving relatives, then another long plane ride to VA. Now the little dear, at 10 weeks, is taken to a super loud ballgame. What next Mom amp; Dad?BR/Love you all,BR/Nana Jean

Nana, I think you are adding a couple weeks there. She was 8 weeks yesterday. That’s okay though. Next stop for Ainsleigh, the sky’s the limit.
