Skype…!!!
A couple weeks ago, after Christine got back from visiting her dad and family in Reno to welcome Jackson into the world, she mentioned that her dad was using Skype to talk with her brother Matt, who recently moved to New York City. It works as a video telephone call. It was kind of cool to see Jackson for the first time today outside of a picture. He was asleep, so we chatted a bit with her dad and finished our test. It was really cool.
Arrgh!!! This feature comes with the Logitech Software
The camera has Avatars (like talking through a puppet), facial features (like the pirate mask over my face in the picture above) and it has the picture where your eyes and mouth are showing like they used to do on Conan O’Brien.
I recorded my first couple of video replies on Facebook today and it records videos in flash (look at me I am all excited about flash, what a geek I am). I am really excited about this new toy as there are so many applications I can use to communicate with others.
I suggest you go get a camera and try this out, you’ll be glad you had done so.
Also, tonight, I made my first pumpkin pies straight out of the can. It was truly something to make it as I haven’t done that before and I am making my mom’s delicious cranberry Jello (it is quite tasty as many would wonder what it tastes like). In fact, it is one of my staples to have a Thanksgiving; without it, it just isn’t Thanksgiving, just some other meal. I am sure that you too, have your staple that you can’t live without. Tomorrow is going to be great and I am glad that my in-laws are in town. Wow, what a change I have made in just a short year, I got married and I now have a child on the way and I have had a change of employment status, more than once (something I hope won’t repeat in 2008). How lucky can a guy be? I am truly thankful for my present situation, it will make me a better person in the end and I am eager to see who that person will be.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I hope you are safe and comfortable this holiday and filled with cheer.
Also, if you can help it, try not to give in to “Black Friday” alternately known as “Family Day.” Stay with your family, corporate America doesn’t need another person acting like the Jones’ (just a suggestion at having a second thought before you brave the 5AM crowds).
