A Couple Minutes at Farragut Square in Washington, DC
pI decided to bring the Nikon D60 camera with me to work today because the past couple of days, or more like a week, I have been wishing I had it with me because there is so much vivid color and natural beauty all around me each day on the walk to and from the metro. Most days I pay attention to just the squirrels and make squeaky noises and they perk up and look at me as though I am trying to say something to them and they are just focusing to hear it.
Well, recently, the tulips came up and into bloom. They are currently almost done with the cycle and most of the petals are coming off the stems. However, there is still a great deal of color for the eye to behold and it is a reason why I have loved coming to work and leaving work in the past week. They say, “take the time to stop and smell the roses” and today I did, but they were tulips. I hope you enjoy the pictures below.
As you can see, I had some competition for good photo angles today. It was brutal. Not really, but I like to think so. If there is more than one photographer or wanna-be photographer in one spot, it has to be a good one.
Oh yeah, the lamp was my first attempt and only one out of three attempts at HDR today. Because the computer software takes three images and condenses them into one with a full range of light and color, it is hard to do it by hand. I amazed myself that the lamp came out so clear on its edges. “I ♥ Lamp.” I finally have a reason to use that quote that isn’t just pulled out of the air. For that I am extremely grateful for the moments I got to capture today.

You have some amazing shots in there. Keep up the good work, I like what I am seeing. I may need some tips on Lightroom 2…

Thanks DB. Lightroom is real easy. Just toggle and use the Develop feature. Easy as pie.
