My First Mother’s Day

Sunday was my first mommy’s day and my mommy was in town for the big day. We slept in while Will and Ainsleigh made us breakfast in bed.

We got up and spent the morning around the house. When Ainsleigh got up from her nap we headed out to get a bite to eat before my mom had to go to the airport.

After having lunch, Ainsleigh said goodbye for 6 weeks to her Noni (very sad moment). Will, Ainsleigh and I ran a couple of errands and then headed to a park our neighbors told us about. Ainsleigh got to swing, slide and crawl around an old soccer field. We had such a nice afternoon.

I did promise an update about me, usually nothing exciting happens to the parents once a baby is born, but I have really exciting news. I have been offered a new position in my school district. I will be a Technology Integration Specialist starting next school year. This position takes me out of the classroom (no more grading!!!). I will now be helping teachers teach more effectively using technology. I am really excited about this position and have wanted to do this for a while. The school year will be a little expanded for me, I will start back to work on August 17th now (about two weeks early). However this job will be a little more flexible in other ways and allow me a lot more time in the evenings at home and on the weekends since I won’t have to bring home work with me. And yes is it a bit of a raise, but that’s only because I will work more days. I will continue teaching one online course through Virtual High School. So that’s it, my exciting news…onto the pictures of the park.

Congrats on the new job! It sounds like it will work out well for you. I can’t believe how big your little girl is getting, time is flying by so quickly.
