Sign Language Class

br

Even though we haven’t made it to a lot of classes both Will and I practice signs with her and she can do milk back to us, she smiles at us when we sign “good girl”. I try to do some of the other signs but hopefully we will make it to the rest of the classes and learn even more signs.br

br She enjoyed the parachute for a short time but wasn’t really sure about the choo-choo train that happened with the parachute at the end of class. br

I’m curious, does doing sign language delay the start of talking? It seems that if they can make their wants known via the hand signs, why would they hurry to learn words. Just a thought.BR/Hugs,BR/Nana Jean

no actually studies have shown it improves their language skills and most children who are taught sign language have better language ability at certain milestones than do children who weren’t taught sign language.BR/here is the link to our yoga teacher’s website that has some info about it, I will look for some other research.
