A Day in the City

Will is always bugging me to go into DC because after all we do live fairly close to our nation’s capital. Today was a perfect day, the trees are considered “at peak” and the weather is probably going to start getting pretty nasty soon. So we headed to the National Mall (not a shopping mall) with Ainsleigh and my Mom who is in town for the weekend.

We took our new camera and with the camera in hand, Will became a “pro photographer” even getting on the ground in front of the reflecting pool for some shots of Ainsleigh and me with the Washington Monument in the background.

Anyway, here are some photos of our excursion.

What sharp pictures Will! You are doing a good job. I always thought you got better pictures than the pro and now for sure you will. I love the pictures with the reflections in them. Also the leaves are so great. Did baby try to eat them? How many pictures can you put on the card?BR/Do you have parades on 11/11? If so, that would be a great day to get shots. Also, on Dec. 13 they will decorate the graves at Arlington with the green wreaths and red ribbons. The DAR Chapters across the country will do so also. My chapter has 1,500 wreaths paid for thus far for the new Vet’s National Cem. at Dixon. Our service starts at 9:00 a.m. to take part at the same time of the Arlington wreath laying. I will be there with the Ferguson’s as they have a wreath coming to put on Bob’s grave. That would be a great photo opt for you at Arlington. I have seen pictures of Arlington with the snow and the wreaths. Makes one proud we remember those vets.BR/Nana Jean

Nana, we have an 8GB card and the pictures, all 120+ of them only took about 450MB, 1000MB is equal to 1GB, so I am guessing a lot. We have a lot of space on that card that came with the package. Also, Christine has an 2GB SD card as well. We may get a 2GB Eye-Fi card as well. Basically the Eye-Fi card is like a wireless computer connection, but to the card. No wire necessary to connect the computer. But they are about $80, we thought we would get the 8GB card going, for now, since just like a brand new car, we don’t want to change out the transmission for a better one, when what you have is working for you at the moment.

Ahhhh, DC. We miss DC more than we miss Reno, and we were there only a short time! I’ll see you guys next summer (unless you make it to Reno in November or December)!
