Happy Nevada Day (with a Bonus Feature)

Happy Halloween 2008

After a long awaited three paycheck month, we have enough saved for the dogs to stay at PetsMart during the holidays and we were able to get something that both Christine and I have wanted for a long time. Now, I am not one to enjoy being in front of the camera very much (I suppose you can blame my grandmother for OD’ing me in being in front of the camera when I was a little kid), but I do seem to have a natural tendency to take fabulous pictures with a point-and-click camera. I have been drifting towards artistic imagery for some time now, since I think before our wedding and it only seems like a natural fit for us to get our very first SLR camera.

Nikon D60We first started investigating this highend purchase back when we took our trip to the West Coast during the summer. There were so many great pictures snapped out there that we thought we would like to get quality pictures if we have the chance. Here’s our shot, or rather, Ainsleigh’s, to make the camera shine.

If you would like to review our purchase, you can always go to Amazon.com and take a look at what we are due to receive in a couple of days. It is pretty complete and you can get the camera in the store for about $650, so why not throw in all of this pirate’s booty with it, if we are going to spend the money anyway.

We will let you know when we’ve received the camera, until then, maybe some more videos, as Nana likes to see.

I have a “wonderful” camera I purchased about 20 years ago (in Reno after a big win). It however was always having an electric short and I’d have to run over to SF, pay another $100 and then after a few months it would go bonkers again, lock up and nothing work. I’ll look around and see if I still have some of the lens, etc. that might fit your new camera. We’ll try it when you get here. I took some wonderful pictures in Yosemite and at the ocean with it and of course of Christine, Nick and Nicole. It is not digital, and I’m assuming yours will be.BR/BR/Hugs,BR/Nana

We just got this same camera while in Reno…it is amazing, especially on our trip around Tahoe. Thanks for the review/suggestion!

Hey, you getting into any HDR editing? Let me know if not, I can help you get started as I am sure you would rock with your photoshop skills. If so, I may be asking you some stuff while I am learning it.
